Want to be More Connected to DV LEAP? Join the Advocacy Council!

Join the DV LEAP Advocacy Council!

The Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project’s Advocacy Council members serve as ambassadors of the organization by promoting DV LEAP's mission and programs; organizing educational & outreach events; and hosting fundraisers to support pro bono representation of domestic violence survivors. As a compliment to the DV LEAP Board of Directors, the Advocacy Council is also an opportunity for young professionals to gain exposure to a nonprofit governing body.

DV LEAP’s Advocacy Council is made up of 10 to 15 members who serve as advocates for DV LEAP in law firms, companies, and in their communities.  Advocacy Council members also provide valuable help with DV LEAP’s efforts to recruit pro bono attorneys and expand our fundraising base.

More information can be found here.

Interested applicants should submit a résumé, and a one-page letter of interest. Please send all materials to Flora Patel at flora@dvleap.org. Please include “Advocacy Council Application, [Your Full Name]” in the subject line of the email. Advocacy Council applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

Additional information about DV LEAP is available on our website. To view a short video on DV LEAP’s impact on survivors of domestic violence, please visit this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=h8IhtuSl_0I.
