Pro bono counsel from Arnold & Porter LLP co-counseled the appeal with DV LEAP, producing a powerful brief.  In addition, a masterful friend of the court (amicus) brief was submitted on behalf of Justice for Children, the Leadership Council on Child Abuse and Intimate Partner Violence, and four local domestic violence organizations.  Lawyers for both the mother and the amici delivered a superb oral argument before the D.C. Court of Appeals.
